Biography

Y.L. Srinivasulu first guru was Sri K.M. Venkataswamy garu – Lecturer, Govt. Sarada Sangeetha Kalasala Karnool – under whom he learned Dolu for 3 years. Later he joined at the Govt. Sarada Sangeetha Kalasala, where he completed 4 years of formal education – learning advanced lessons of the traditional instrument.

Registering for the Certificate Course at the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad, A.P, he passed out in 1997 with a 1st class . He next proceeded to complete the Dolu – Diploma Course from the same Telugu University Hyderabad in 1999.

An ‘A’ Grade Artiste of the All India Radio since 2003, he have also been invited to play for National Programmes of All India Radio and Doordarshan and Sangeetha Sammelan by All India Radio.

Work Experience :

1. Temple Dolu Artiste of T.T.D. S.K.V.S. Temple for 5 years
2. Narayanavanam Temple Dolu Artiste for 2 years (1997 – 2002)
3. Tirumala Srivari Temple Dolu Artiste for 2 years (2002 – 2004)
4. Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple Dolu Artiste for 1 year (2004 – 2005)


Presently :

Lecturer and Head of the Department of Dolu Sri Venkateswara Sangeetha Nritya Kalasala, Balaji colony, Tirupati.

Specialisation :

He have specialised in Dolu accompaniment to not only Nadaswaram but also Clarionet, Mridangam, Violin, Flute, Western Drums etc. In each performance, he have highlighted the various styles of Dolu playing. Hence, his performances always bring out the speciality of this instrument in the laya vadyam format.

He have given special concerts for dance ballets, in aalaya sampradayam, providing Dolu accompaniment Bharatha Natyam.

Concert Experience:

He is a regular performer travelling widely for concerts. he have given several concerts for special occasions, especially at Sri Rama Navami utsavams at Ramakuppam and other places in A.P, at Bangalore, Tiruchi, and Siripur (Maharashtra).

He have been invited to play at Utsavams all over India. He have given concerts at important venues in Tamilnadu – at Tiruvayyar, Tiruvarur, Trichi, Pudukkotai, Chennai, Tiruttani, etc.

In 1995 ‘Adivila Tour’ of Srilanka
In 1996 Concert Tour in Malaysia
